A nice place to have a picnic lunch and then go for a walk.
A nice quiet place to go. A great place to have a picnic lunch. Several picnic tables to choose from here. There is a rustic old round barn to check out. The preserve is free of charge to use. There are several trails to take here. A couple bridges that make it have some charm. I saw live crawdads in the creek you can go check out. Only drawbacks is the map is very out of date, so not very useful. Also the trails are not well marked. I'd still recommend it. It's a charming little place and I'm glad I cam back to visit.

Miles of trails in loops
If you like taking a walk in the woods this is it. You can go from woods to meadow to walking in a stream bed to a pine grove. They loop and loop so when you are ready to leave it is only a short walk to the car but if you want to keep going you can. Call the park district if you have a group. The education building in interesting. Nice building to rent for outdoor functions also. I love going after a nice rain and smell the nature. Leave the Ipod in the car and listen to nature all around you. Just wonderfull
