A Great Zoo- 4th Largest in Illinois- A Hidden Gem
This is a Gem to find on a road trip. The Zoo is very impressive and the staff all volunteer are so knowledgeable and helpful. This is the 4th largest Zoo in Illinois and for the rpice hands down the best value you can find. They have animals of every kind so you will not be disappointed for sure. Make sure you take the train ride well worth the few dollars it cost to see the zoo before you begin the walking part to get your bearings. I would highly recommend this zoo to anyone wanting to have a moment with nature and family.

FUN!
We absolutely loved this little zoo. We took the train ride around the zoo. And we went on the carousel. All the employees were very nice. There was alot of hand sanitizer stations around the zoo. Also after the train ride and carousel, they cleaned the areas. We stayed for about 2 hours. The kids and the adults had a good time.

Overall a great place to go
The zoo is clean and animals appear to be well taken care of. Some of the bird exhibits were closed due to the bird flu, which is understandable. Lines for the train weren't bad at all. Staff was friendly. Only recommendation would be since purchasing tickets online in advance is clearly identified on the web as the preferred method, than please have a separate point of entrance for us to simply have our phones scanned and be on our way. Waiting in line for 15 minutes with everyone else seemed counterproductive. But outside of that, a great experience!
