    Camping experience
Great park, easy to access the statue from, clean bathrooms, and the firewood you can buy from the hosts is a dollar cheaper than the same bundles you get in town (they only take cash though). Due to bad weather we had the entire campground to ourselves, the plots are a little small so would be difficult to spread out if they were packed full of people. Dogs are allowed on leash, there are showers with plenty of hot water and there is tree cover in most spots for tarping.

    Beautifully Scenic State Park
A verdant state park with plenty of camping areas available. They also have some nice picnic pavilions and playground areas as well (if you just want to stop for a few hours). There are restrooms available, and they do an admirable job keeping everything clean and in good repair. There is a road that takes you up to the statue of Chief Blackhawk. Originally designed/created by Lorado Taft, the statue has been recently renovated. Statue sits on a beautifully scenic lookout point over the Rock River as well, which gives visitors a wonderful view of the river and surrounding area.
