Beautiful Park
This was a last minute stop. Was traveling home with my son after a bad day weekend of fishing in southern Illinois. We drove around the park and ultimately did some fishing there. The park is beautiful. Mostly surrounded by timber including in the campgrounds. The campgrounds appear to be very clean and have both modern and primitive sites. The water is extremely clear in the lake. We spent several hours fishing from the docks near the restaurant. Would like to return to camp sometime.

Great State Park
Didn't plan on stopping here for the night, but our family was so glad we did. Large sites, well maintained, plenty of trees, spotless showers. and bath house....a must for the ladies in our family....and quiet except for the numerous birds who wake you up to their beautiful songs. We had to leave mid morning and couldn't take part in the lake or trails, but drove the park road and cannot wait to come back. This park is a gem.
