Check the website calendar and go when there's a program to attend.
The mansion was built at a cost of $100,000 in 1865 dollars (about a million and a half today). For a while it was owned by Mrs. Lou Ringling (of the circus dynasty) who added a ballroom and made other changes. In the '40s it became a boys' prep school; in 1976 the First Congregational Church bought part of the property; in 2002 the Lakeside Legacy project began. Today it is a community center featuring arts and music. Check the website calendar and pay a visit when there's a program to attend.

A nice place to visit or book an event
I love the history behind LLAP. Dating back to the mid-1800's, there is alot to see. If you visit, go on a tour of the old Dole Mansion. It is unbelievably cool.
