Very Peaceful Park
We love this park! It has definitely become our favorite! We live in Rockford, IL so it takes us about 40 minutes to get there. It is so peaceful and scenic. The beach is great for the kids, too. There are also paddle boats and fishing boats that you can rent. Plus they have a little restaurant in the park if you don't feel like cooking one night. The trails are nice...parts of them are out in the open field (where you can usually see some horses) and then parts of the trails go into the woods. Very nice scenery there, too with some bridges over creeks and even a little rock pathway to cross over a little stream. There really isn't anything bad to say about this park. Some people may not like the fact that there is no water hook up at the sites, but there is water throughout the park to fill your camper or just fill it before you leave your house - that's what we do! We highly recommend this park....especially if you would like a peaceful weekend!

The Great Outdoors
We have been here several times to fish. I can't say we catch too much, but we always have a good time. The scenery is always beautiful and it is alway so peaceful out there. I have gotten to see some great sunsets while fishing. There is a beach and part of the lake is roped off for swimming. There are campsites available as well. Great place not too far from home.
