Very Interesting Store - Lot's of great stuff
I'm not much of a shopper and certainly do not have any interest in spending time in resale shops but I had time to kill in the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. Hummingbird Upscale Resale has a little of everything. Everything in the store was displayed so professionally. It felt more like a boutique store than a resale shop. The owner was very engaging and pleasant. I was thumbing through a stack of very gently used vinyl lp's. She came over and told me she had another batch in the back. I ended up buying all but two of that stack. She also had a couple of very nice pieces of Belleek China from Ireland, very well priced. If you are in the area I would suggest a drive by - I will do so from time to time to add to my collection of vinyl.

I came home with more things I didn't know I needed.
I started the new year with another fun visit to Hummingbird Resale. I left with a handful of small '80s trinkets and a 14" potbellied, stuffed, jointed moose. There were at least a dozen other unique items that caught my eye. It required my last ounce of self-control to leave them in the shop. Her eclectic inventory and fair prices are that attractive. But like both the Terminator and General MacArthur, I will make a reappearance. If you, like me, have strong hunter/gatherer genes in your DNA, you will love this store.

never the same place twice
On the basis of the two earlier 2020 reviews, I made a special hunter/gatherer trip to Hummingbird Resale. I was delighted with what I found. This is a perfect example of the Tripadvisor community at its best. I am now the proud owner of a '60s - '70s plastic perpetual calendar snow globe -- super kitchy, colourful, unique, and fairly priced. In fact, based on the original price tag stuck to the base, I paid $2.75 more than I would have paid for it new, 5-6 decades ago. The shop has been open for three years. It is not consignment -- the owner personally chooses her inventory. You'll find vintage clothing, furniture, jewelry, tableware, etc. She has an excellent eye and a realistic pricing policy. I will definitely be back to discover more things I didn't know I needed. There is free street parking on Knox or use the lot at Oakton Park across the street.
