Enjoyed our visit with Henry
We stayed at least a half hour just talking to Henry. He has a small store and a lot of items he has handpicked that you won’t find elsewhere. He even has one of Bob Waldmire’s old cars. (Bob was the Route 66 artist and cartographer whose old school bus is on exhibit at the Pontiac, IL museum.) Look for the row of VW Rabbits that spoofs the Cadillac Ranch. Henry is also a lover of live rabbits, and you may see one of them, as well.

Cute Place
WE got there just as Henry was going to go to lunch but he stayed open to talk to us. He told us all about his rabbits both living and non-living. He did not have any rabbits outside because it was too hot for them. He has 4 rescue rabbits at this time. WE looked around the shop, took some pictures and went outside. He has a tribute to Cadillac Ranch with VW Rabbits. He also has a huge wooden rabbit sculpture in the back yard. We couldn't count all of the VW Rabbits that were on the property.

Friendly and great pictures
One of my favorite stops on Route 66 IL. I walked around and started taking some pictures and then Henry came out. He was one of the nicest people I met on my trip. He told me all about his ranch and rabbits (it was too hot for the rabbits to be out and because of the pandemic and remodeling the shop was closed). He also told me more about Route 66 than anyone else did on my trip and gave me some great information booklets that helped for the rest of my trip. You can tell he loves his place and I'm so glad I caught him on a day he was around.
