Stop here first!
We rolled into Galena planning to stay the night but had no reservations. While looking at pamphlets I decided to ask about lodging not expecting much more than a map as to locations. Boy was I wrong. The two ladies went into action and actually called some places we thought looked good. Before we knew it we had a place to stay at a great price! This would have been much harder in Summer but being November it worked out. They were so nice and we really appreciated their help!

Great Ladies & Excellent Advice & Service
We actually stopped here twice. The ladies were wonderful and very helpful. The only disappointment was the number of attractions that were closed on Tuesday.

Definitely make this your first stop in Galena
Instead of wandering around aimlessly, stop here first. We had parked a short distance from the DeSoto hotel and never would have known about it as a very good attraction if the folks at the Welcome Center hadn't suggested it. After touring the town a bit, we ended up having a picnic outside the Center...a nice little touch.
