Laurent House
We had a girls weekend in Rockford and our first stop was the Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House. Our docent, Mary Beth, was absolutely wonderful. She shared so much information about Mr. Wright and Mr. Laurent and you left falling in love with the property and the story of why and how it was built. It is the only Frank Lloyd Wright house build for a person with disabilities and FLW gave him all he requested, large hallways, seating for guests and family the same height as his wheelchair, and so much more. This house is a must see for Rockford visitors.

Unique home, definitely worth seeing.
This home blends into the woodsy area around it. It is so well cared for and interesting. The design is unique, and well worth seeing. We loved the attention to detail, the design, and how it was made to accommodate a wheel chair bound individual and his family, while still looking so stylish. It really showcases beauty and functionality. Our tour guide was very informative, and we walked around the grounds of the home at the end of our tour. We could take pictures, touch items. The meeting spot is across the street at a home, and there is a lovely gift shop, and restrooms. It is a beautiful tour, and highly recommend it.
