    Nice scenic and historic site
Fort Kaskaskia is both historic and scenic. The fort is a reconstructed earthwork. There is a well done sign explaining it and the town of Kaskaskia across the river. When we were there archaeology students from SIU were there on a dig. They said they found French coat buttons. They were also digging near the American fort location near the cemetery. All in all a nice place to visit when you are in the area.
