Great place for people of all ages
It is a very large facility and offers all sorts of attractions. For kids, there are different pools for different interests: tot wading through high diving boards and big water slides. Best of all, the place is crawling with very alert life guards who rotate frequently on and off duty.

one of my favourite suburban parts
The zero-depth pool at the south gate features a tropical garden island decorated with over-sized flowers, birds, and a giant butterfly. There is an adult lap pool. The mini arboretum -- named for Ralph Zynnestvedt -- has gravel and boardwalk paths that circle around the ornamental prairie display garden, the shady display garden, the rain garden, and the Boughner/Baden Art in the Park sculpture. Many trees, shrubs, and flowers are labeled. There are picnic tables, a sledding hill, playgrounds; walking/jogging/hiking paths, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts,a picturesque bridge over a small pond, and plenty of parking. Be aware that the paths flood during heavy rains, and that you can call 847-724-3337 to find out if the pools are open during questionable weather.
