    The REAL deal!
This off the beaten trail orchard is SO worth the road trip from St. Louis! We're used to the big shot orchard (Eckert's) around here... and they're fun, to be sure. BUT, you REALLY don't want to eat an apple straight from the tree like Eckert's encourages you to do. Why? It will most definitely make you sick with the mega amounts of pesticides used. I'm not a fan anymore. Here at Flamm Orchards, my mother and I BOTH ate an apple straight from the bag without washing (I know... gross) but we were hungry! The taste of the Jonathon apple we had was like I remembered apples tasting like! They didn't make either one of us sick. Not even a little. The price of the apples here are SO SO SO inexpensive! What you'll spend in time and gas, you'll make up for in the prices of the apples! Neither one of us could believe how cheap. At least half the price of what Eckerts would charge to pick your own. Don't be disappointed though. You won't be able to pick your own here... that's perfect because the dau we went, it was rainy and cold. Here's the downside... YES. It's cash only. That's one of the reasons they're able to keep the prices so low! Also, we traveled for a few hours to get here and I had to used the "facilities". Ugh. They HAVE NO RESTROOM! My elderly mother and I had to use the port a potty. THAT was GROSS. It's the same port a potty the employees had to use and it's not kept very clean so you might want to stop at a gas station before you get here. Oh and if you want the whole orchard experience where you bring your kiddos to pick your own fruit... that's not going to happen here either (like I said). I think the locals and the employees were surprised when they learned how far we drove just to buy apples! But they're gaining a reputation all over and we're VERY happy we stopped. The straight from the oven apple dumpling and apple crumb pie was pretty good too and the lady even threw in a free cup of coffee :-) They're really nice here!

    Wonderful Peaches
I saw Flamm Orchard on the side of the road while traveling to another destination and had to stop. They had a fruit stand that had fresh peaches and jellies and other assorted canned items. Oh the smell of those peaches was divine. I wish I could bottle that fragrance and take it with me. They also had a little food stand where you could order treats like peach sundaes and peach donuts. They had peach cobblers to go. We got a single serving of peach cobbler with ice cream. It was fabulous ! I could have made myself sick from eating it. This was a good stop and one I hope to make again.
