Nice museum for younger kids
We brought our three girls (ages 14, 9, and 7) to the Decatur Children's Museum. We are members of the St. Louis Science Center which allows us free access to ALCS museums all over the US; however, when we arrived, we were told it was a free day for everyone. I wish I had called before coming over because we arrived at 1:15 and were told they were closing at 2:00 p.m. We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the museum but from what we did get to do, I could clearly see that this is aimed at a younger audience. There is a lot of "pretend play" with a pizza parlor, doctor's office, ambulance, mechanic shop, etc. My two younger girls are still into dressing up, so they enjoyed it but there was nothing for my oldest to do. I think this museum would be great for ages 3-9. Ages beyond that will get bored quickly.

Fun, clean place!
So...... I recently went to Louisville, KY and after paying a huge amount for their "children's museum", I want to say Decatur, you have something really good here. My toddler loves the grocery store, the climbing thing in the middle, the bubbles, he just likes the whole place! I don't suggest this place for older kids, like a lot of people post. My 13 year old doesn't have much to do when he is here.
