I’ve driven past this building many times, never even realizing this is the oldest remaining business building in Champaign. I was pleasantly surprised at the museum exhibits. Very well done! A lot of history to learn here.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN CHAMPAIGN
I was surprised and delighted to find this hidden gem smack-dab in the middle of downtown Champaign. The Illinois Traction System Exhibit about electric cars was really interesting with lots of well done displays and exceptional videos made specifically for this museum. The Snapshot Exhibit was filled with historic photography equipment and great stories including a unique and charming photo of Lincoln with a special behind-the-scenes story I never heard before. (You’ll have to go there to find out what it is!!) There’s a lot more inside that charming historic building than you’d expect. It’s clean, well organized, easy parking and no charge (donations only).

A Small, But Mighty Museum
A great little museum. All of the employees were extremely kind and helpful and wanted to help you explore the museum. My favorite exhibit was one showing off the old streetcar system that Champaign used to have. Made me wish it never went away! A great, educational way to spend an hour or two in Champaign. It's also near a plethora of good restaurants, do it's a perfect pre-dinner stop.
