Neat ride and something different

Maybe I'm weird but I think this is so cool, and interesting to watch! We had a very short wait on both sides, but I enjoyed watching the workers and everything they have to do for each trip across the river, and how they deal with the current of the river. It amazed me that we were loaded with a semi truck so close that we could reach out the window and touch it. We went across to Kentucky to visit the Amish stores, but they were closed until March. But we would have done the ferry anyway. We got some neat pictures of the river and it's a great view of Cave-in Rock as you cross!

    Free and Fun
A very short ferry ride across the Ohio River, maybe 10 minutes max. Once on the Kentucky side, we drove to Marion, KY which we didn't feel was worth the time as there is not much to see or do there. But drive was pretty and we got some gas. We did not have to wait in line for the ferry as we were there mid-week; not sure it would be worth a long wait, honestly.

    A Free Ride!
The ferry had been closed the end of February due to very high water on the Ohio River. It had just opened the day I arrived, still high water but safe now. I enjoy ferry rides and take them as often as possible. They are a nice break from the highways. And since it's free, all the better!!
