Casino at Harrah's Metropolis, Illinois, United States

No fun!

We normally go to Harrah's Cherokee or Harrah's tunica but decided to come here for 1 night. First off, the casino is very small. They do make you wear masks. They do not provide complimentary drinks. You can not bring outside drinks in, nor take drinks from the casino to your room. They do not let you drink at the blackhjack tables. I think I'll stick with the other Harrah's properties.. this place is no fun.

    Know before you go.
We’re getting older and started trying different casinos and that lifestyle. My wife enjoys slots and I’m trying to appreciate it. This hotel though has a bit of disconnect with their guests. The last time we stayed here and this time as well we were charged a $15 early check in. It was 330 pm. Big negative in my eyes. Also, their restaurant opens at 10 am. No breakfast options available. Also, the main restaurant isn’t open every evening and all they have is a little deli. If we return, we will not stay at this hotel. We will choose a Hilton or IHG group hotel and just pass on the Harrahs due to their lack of ability to serve their customers. Too bad.

Poor customer service and employee attitude
Stopped at Harrah's for one night. Hotel was nice and clean and service was good but the casino was a different story. Casino is small and not much else to do but gamble. I realize the pandemic has affected a lot as far as what can be done in the casino but this was really bad. I found the people rude. As an example I have not played any table games for some time so to start I was at the High Spade Flush table and the dealer barked at me about standing 6 ft. back as I watched my brother play. Then I finally got a seat (only 3 seats per table). When I got my cards I turned to my brother to ask what he thought I should do and the dealer again barked at me that this is not allowed. The way he did it was very rude. It made me mad at his attitude so I threw my cards down and walked away. I never played another table game that night. A little courtesy would have went a long way. This is probably the last time they will see me at this casino. Also, we spent well over $100 at the casino restaurant for dinner and I had a bottle of beer and the waitress said I couldn't take it into the casino...made no sense at all.
