Peaceful and Heartache

I Have Several Loved Ones Buried At Camp Butler. And Miss them All So Very Much. I Like to take my time when I am there. It’s So Very Peaceful. The Grounds are Well taken care of. And if some one comes by they speak. If workers are around they try to let you have your time to yourself. I have been coming to Camp Butler since I was a child with my Grandma after my Grandpa Passed away. That was so many years ago. I Enjoy Seeing all the Graves During the Hoildays. The Wreathes are so Pretty. I want to Say a Big Thank You To Everyone that Works At Camp Butler. God Bless You All. Susie Weitzel Larson

    History/Veteran/Families
We visit here regularly as we live in the area and have a grandparents and father buried here. You can feel the history and patriotism in the air as you walk or drive through the pristine cemetery. You can easily look up a person you may have known with the computer system near the office. Restrooms are available. Memorial Day is a great time to bring the family and teach your children about our veterans as it is beautifully decorated with flags at each stone. Memorial Day service is always wonderful.

    In need of care!!
Buried my mother with my father and sister 4 years ago ! To this date not one blade of grass grows in the area where they are buried, The ground is hard and has deep cracks in the ground, When my sister passed away we bought a brass vase that is placed at the grave and is anchored at the grave site, The Vase was destroyed when my father was buried next to my sister, Staff was made aware and was replaced. When my mother was buried there 4 years ago, the 2nd vase was destroyed and to this day has not been replaced!! My parents were involved in several veterans groups and spent both Memorial and Veterans Day at Camp Butler, Mother organized the avenue of flags. As a child was instructed this is where they wanted to be buried it WAS such a beautiful place. It saddens me to see what has become of Camp Butler National Cematary
