Shady place for a hot afternoon

We really enjoyed wandering the trails here on a hot humid afternoon. We saw many deer. We were sad that some of the watering places were drained so it appeared the deer had a harder time getting water. There also used to be turtles and frogs but there stream was drained so we did not see any of those either. There were several trails but they were not really clearly marked. We figured we would eventually find our way out.

    No blair witch
    I have always enjoyed a most quiet stroll through these small woods just by myself or with a friend. Busey Woods is located accross the street from a cemetary so at night it can be a little creepy.

    Closest place to get back to nature in town
    Interesting all year round. Trails are short to moderate length, can cover the entire area in an hour or so. Can easily access Crystal Lake Park, adjoining it, by foot and extend your walking experience.
