Must See in Murphysboro
Have had Big Muddy beers before but this was the first visit to their brewery. We wanted to take the tour and were prepared to pay the feed (comes with a tasting and a glass I think). Anyway, there was only the bartender the day we were there so no tours, but he gave us a short version for free, very accommodating. It looks like they do not serve food but they did have call-in menus on the table. We brought in some McDonald's and had no trouble at all. We tried a flight and were not disappointed. The decor is relatively plain / industrial. Cement floor. Nice tables and benches but clearly this is first and foremost a working brewery, not a brewpub. Very good free Wi-Fi. If you are anywhere in the area and like craft beer, definitely worth a visit.

Drinking Beer
Great brews in a fun atmosphere. They often have entertainment in the weekends! They have an interesting variety of locally brewed beers.

It was a fun place to go
I was visiting my son in Carbondale and we found this place after talking about some of the local brews. When we pulled up the place is a morton building with a tower up front. Find the door marked entered and follow the short hallway you won't be disappointed. The tasting room in nice with a patio outback to enjoy. We purchased a flight which allowed us to taste all the beers on tap. It was some great tasting beer. There was a couple on tap I wouldn't have ordered but I am glad I tried. The staff is friendly and makes this a great stop. Will definitely stop here again if I am in town.
