Ayer's Landing Canoe Rental, Illinois, United States

Great Customer Service

Nine people in our group ranging from ages 13-50. We rented four canoes and one kayak. We called a day ahead to let them know we were coming and they were ready for us. We loaded up on the short bus and headed out on the 12 mile trip. They drive you to the top of the river and you float back to the place. There was a sign on the river letting you know when you arrived so you didn't pass the place up. Bring your own koozies, otherwise you pay $3 each to have theirs. They don't really give you any instructions, so you should have some experience before going. The Fox River was pretty smooth, no real rapids at all. We did encounter a large tree in the river that flipped one of the canoes, but no biggie! There are beautiful views along this river - bring a waterproof camera! We started around 11:30am and finished about 5:20pm. It was a great trip and we will do it again!

    Great people, Beautiful Area
Rent canoes to float down the Fox River!! Park and rent here and they bus you to the starting point for no extra charge. The Fox River is never very deep and usually meanders gently, making this a stress free, relaxing outdoor adventure. Enjoy the beautiful scenery. Great for families, couples, friends and more!!

    We got to canoe :)
The river was great, scenery gorgeous. We stumbled in to canoe without a reservation so we were glad they could get us in. But then things seemed a bit unorganized as we waited and waited to board a bus. Once we got to the canoes, everything was fine. Little instruction or guidance but if you have any experience you’ll be fine. Kids loved all the bluffs and islands. There were plenty of opportunities to get out an explore. Was a little hard with little kids because there were quite a few loud and boisterous drunks on the river along the way but we just paddled on when we felt like it was Too much for the kids.
