Angela's Attic, Illinois, United States

3.5 (11 reviews) Spent Ranking #4 in South Beloit Antique Shops

Very large

Very large lay out. Almost like a maze, I think I got lost a few times haha. They had a huge amount of items. I ended up purchasing a few vintage nautical items and some lamps. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for an interesting place to find some items.

    Large, chaotic, fun antiques mall
I've visited this place - and the Roscoe Antique Mall across the street - a dozen times perhaps in the 3 years I've been back in the area; probably a few times back in the 90s and 00s as well when visiting my family. Overall I slightly prefer the Roscoe A.M., but you should really make time for both since they are just on either side of the street from each other. The Roscoe A.M. is more simply laid out, better lit and easier to find your way around in; Angela's Attic is somewhat chaotic and maze-like, but also I think a fair bit larger. I think there's a bit more cheap stuff at this one, and a bit more high-end stuff across the street, but it's hard to say that for sure without actually taking detailed notes. I'm a book collector, and both locations offer a fair number of book dealers or at least dealers that sell some books (and magazines, sheet music, posters and other paper collectibles), but the Roscoe A.M. has the best single dealer in this area. I'm also interested in Breweriana - I think the two places are fairly equal in that area. Surely whatever your interests in collectibles or antiques - unless you're interested in really high-end stuff - you'll find something of interest in one place or the other; and there are quite a few other antique malls, thrift shops, flea markets etc in the area as well - though nothing else that I've visited to would necessarily be worth a special trip IMO. Both places can be very busy on a summer weekend, but are typically pretty quiet on weekdays.

Just one of many antique malls in the area
Angela's Attic and Roscoe Antiques are two huge malls that are across the street from each other. Both offer some not-so-old-antiques, some flea market-type items and some junk. But, if you are interested in spending a good portion of your day hunting for a find, this area of South Beloit is the place to go. By far, Angela's Attic and Roscoe Antiques are the largest places along Gardner Street. However, just next to Angela's parking lot a private homeowner also puts out flea market type finds, and across the street in a open lot similar items are for sale on Saturdays. Plan on spending several hours just to get through the the malls.
