    Old neighborhood for walking
Great neighborhood to explore but for our first time we went with a guide who explained the history of Le Marais and why this part of the city wasn't subject to the architecture that is so common in much of Paris. Our guide took us through the small streets and past the famous shop that sold falafels though it was closed the day we visited. Highly recommend spending time in the cafes of Le Marais and taking time to wander.

    The best area to stay
I absolutely love this area. There is a real mix of old and new and it has a real eclectic and comfortable atmosphere. Whenever I come to Paris, I always stay around the metro Saint Paul area and I find it perfect. One is close to the heart of the city by foot and the metro line is mere steps away to take one anywhere across Paris. There are amazing food places here and one can find cheap eats to high end dining all mixed together. This is a very safe place too which is important, as I stay here alone and have always felt perfectly fine wandering around at anytime of the day or night. The perfect place for me and it always feels like home each time I return.
