The Icon
Probably the most recognizable structure in the world. There are many areas of Paris where you can take great photos of this icon. Trocadero is probably the best spot to do so, although from the top of Montparnasse Tower is also a good place as are many others. Tickets can be bought online in advance but tend to sell out within seconds, so be sure to check on the timeframes when they release tickets online for sale. Otherwise, the only options for going up the tower are to queue in line the day of, or contract a tour which is usually 3 to 4 times the normal price of admission. However, it's an international icon and worth going up at least once. After that, photos from below are fine. Beware of pickpockets around and near the tower though, they will often approach, or appear as, single tourists taking photos on their phones, but in reality they're casing you and your bag to see how close they can get before taking your bag - saw it happen when a family was trying to do a photo shoot. Just be mindful and enjoy.

A must see in Paris
I guess its difficult to miss the Eifel tower when you are in Paris :) Getting close to the structure is also a great experience, There are a couple of options for entering the tower - The 2nd floor is accessible through stairs or a lift. The lift can also take you to the summit floor, Tickets are pricy and booked for many days in advance. If you want to book through the official site, you should plan well in advance - I would say at-least a few weeks in advance. Many tour operators will have tickets for late planners, but these will obviously be more expensive. We were able to book a guided tour to the second floor through stairs. It was a fun experience. The tower itself is not that great to look at from up close IMO :) The view is beautiful though. I would also highly recommend getting a view of the tower after dark. Sunset in Paris can be pretty late depending on the time of the year! (Might be a good idea to check the sunset timings). It was almost 10:30pm when the lights were switched on when we visited in June 2022. They also switch on a beautiful lighting effect for 5 min on the top of every hour after dark.
