What a great place to visit!
This is such an awesome place to visit and I sincerely hope if you want to learn some history of the area to visit the Scott County Jail. There is a lot of Crime and Punishment stuff here at this jail. It has only been opened to the public for a very short time, but the jail and museum is excellent for people interested in history and a few other things. Learn more about going to the jail and meeting the people running the place who give excellent history of the jail and there is also an audio tour too if you want to do a self tour. I recommend doing a guided tour with the people running the place if at all possible.

What a great find!
We found this old jail looking for something spooky to do for Halloween month. We found this jail that closed to the public in 2008 just opened for tours about 4-5 weeks ago. The owner was very knowledgeable and accommodating. They offered a self guided tour using your own smart phone. It worked flawlessly. The owner told us that they are offering flashlight tours, ghost hunter tours, you can stay the night (no thank you) and more. It was a great day trip and took us a little over an hour reading all of the information about the old jail. Definitely worth the inexpensive $10 entry fee. We wandered around at our own pace, loved it!
