Fun place for kids.
My wife and I took our 4 year-old granddaughter to the Earlyworks Museum. She had a great time browsing through the various interactive activities. I'd recommend this for children ages 4 to 10; I didn't see much to engage the 2-3 age group. Two to three hours is adequate time to enjoy the various age appropriate activities. Check the website for entry fees for the various ages of visitors.

Good Museum for Young Children
This is a very nice kids museum. I really liked that there was a lot of material around the history of Alabama - that's a nice difference from other children's museums that I've been to. I think this place is great for kids under about 8 - kids a bit older would probably still enjoy some of the activities there.
