Historic capital of Peng clan Tusi
The town dates back to 1135, when it was built during the Southern Song Dynasty. For six centuries it was the capital of the Peng Clan, and then abandoned in 1724 during the Qing Dynasty. Today, it appears to be a simple village.

Amazing Cultural Experience!
Laosicheng Tusi Domain, east of Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture is the largest, oldest, and best-preserved Tusi site in China. A key national historical and cultural relic under state protection, it showcases the ethnic group's past & present. Today, it receives tourists both local and abroad. Besides taking in the sights and sounds of the tujia people and their lives, there are many activities for visors to participate. We visited the village temple up on the hills after a hike and took a boat ride down the river to the entrance where we had a dinner prepared by our guide's Mother and husband - traditional Tujia food! A day well spent!
