Slightly pricey but worth it
If it’s the ski experience with the powder snow Hokkaido is famous for, that you’re after, this is It! Ski slopes for different levels of skiers and adequate array of equipment available for rent. Weather was perfect while we were there and it was less crowded than envisaged, given it was bang in the middle of the holiday season. Prices on the high end but you get what you pay for.

Hidden Gem
We can here on a recommendation from a local friend who knows Hokkaido ski areas well. Not a massive ski resort but most definitely quality over quantity. Fast gondola and chairs with no queues, friendly, helpful staff and most importantly incredible powder! No wonder people travel across the world, often from a hometown with reasonable quality snow to ski Hokkaido. Not sure why it’s only Niseko on the international ski radar at the moment - happy to have found this gem before the crowds, though.

Small rooms but fantastic view
Checked in for a night's stay at the resort. Snow fall was not adequate enough for skiing. Room is on the small side. Pillows were flat. Had to request for more. The bathroom was on the small side too. However, what impressed us was the buffet dinner. It was extremely delicious and sumptuous. The breakfast spread was good too. The onsen was not the best, but adequate. It opens only at 6am, unlike most other onsens that operate 24hrs.
