Beautiful small lake at the foothills of Mt Me-Akan (Ms Akan)
was last here in oct 2009 during peak fall foliage. Dropped by while on the way to Tokachigawa onsen. Lake water was in turquoise but less brilliant than in our last visit, probably in late afternoon. Was quiet and serene. don't miss it if you're visiting Akan-ko.

Lesser known, but beautiful
Having come to the area to hike neighbouring Mt Me-Akan (active volcano), we also visited lake Onetto. It's quiet, calm, and beautiful, especially in the autumn. We sat lakeside and read for a couple of hours. lovely.
