FITO Museum, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

4.5 (814 reviews) Sunday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #5 in Ho Chi Minh City Speciality Museums

A hidden gem

The museum is tucked away in an old narrow 5 story wooden house. Traditional Vietnamese medicinal practices are well preserved in the museum. The architecture of the building is dated back to ancient times and there are artifacts dating back to the 18th and 19th century. A gentle smell of traditional medicine wafts throughout the museum. Lovers of history and traditional medicine will love this place. It is a hidden gem.

Really interesting museum and the architecture of this building inside and out is beautiful.
A hidden little gem in ho chi minh city in a beautiful 5 storey building. I really wasn't expecting as much as what I got when I stepped into the museum. All inside is beautifully hand carved ornate wooden decoration all over the walls, ceiling, and everywhere you looked. There is so much info on tradional medicine you can spend atleast an hour or two here. They have so many things on display it's easy to get lost inside and it's definitely worth a visit. I even got a lovely herbal tea to try at the end of my visit.

    Great use of two hours
Six floors of ancient natural remedies amidst carvings, sculpture and decor. The tour guide spoke good English and explained everything well. I enjoyed the building more than the subject, it was spectacular.
