I do not really like “lake beaches” too much as there are no waves and no ocean…but for wa walk during a hot day…not bad. Bathing or swimming…no no…

Open air swimming, clothed or unclothed
this is a large open air swimming area set in the woods near Dreieich. There is a bus from Buchschlag station, or you can drive or cycle there. Parking costs as does the entrance, but it is a small amount. The area is divided in 2, one for swimmers who prefer wearing costumes, and one, hidden from view, for those who prefer to wear nothing at all. There is volleyball on the clothed side and other space for kids to play. On the naturist side there are no special facilities except showers and toilets. Shade is from trees on both sides, and so if you can, bring a sun umbrella, and maybe some sun chairs, as there are none to rent. The cafe in the middle is good for simple fare like sausage and chips and ice creams.

Huge property
The dam is situated on a huge piece of land along side the forest and is accessible by bus which comes every 45 min. There is space for volley ball and yoga as well as open water swimming. Great way to spend a very chilled day or afternoon. Close to the Frankfurt airport traffic route so can do a little plane spotting as well.
