    The Esplanadi Park image
This centrally located park was planned by the famous architect Carl Ludvig Engel. It was opened in 1818. At the Market Square end of the park lies the historic restaurant Kappeli from 1867. Opposite Kappeli is Espa Stage, which offers summer concerts. Svenska Teatern (Swedish Theatre) is located at the Mannerheimintie end of the park. There are many statues in the park. The most famous is the statue of Johan Ludvig Runeberg located next to the legendary Kämp Hotel. In the summertime, the park is popular for picnics. During Christmas time, the park is beautifully lit. See more..
  2. 4.0 Sibelius Park (1.641 reviews)
    - Romantic in the snow…

    Sibelius Park image
Ok, so maybe I got lost in the moment, but trudging through the deep snow with my wife to get to the Sibelius Park and then the monument felt a little like something out of a fairytale or rom-com movie. Granted, it’s just a park near the water, and it has one interesting monument, but under the blue sky, in the freezing snow, this had a really romantic & enchanting feel to it and the fact there were only 3 or 4 other people at the monument meant it almost felt like our own private park! It might not be a must-see in Helsinki but if you have the time to take a quick tram in this direction I can highly recommend it, especially in the winter…seeing loads of kids sledding down hills was also super amusing! And if you get the chance to go to Cafe Regatta afterwards, do it, just a couple of mins walk away! See more..
  3. 4.0 Linnanmäki Amusement Park (790 reviews)
    - Always leave happy!
    Amusement & Theme Parks
    Linnanmäki Amusement Park image
Today we had visited as Hevisaurus played at the Peacock Theatre inside Linnanmäki. As always, we go check out some of the free rides (for the younger ones) as the boy loves them and he's too small for most things. Had a bit of fun before the concert. The theatre itself was nowhere near as small as I expected. Only though 200 people or so would be going...it was closer to 600! We had an amazing time. This band is just fantastic for the kids. Being a big metal fan, I loved it of course. They're great with the kids in the audience and put on a great 60/70 mins. The theme park itself is a tad expensive for some things but expected with the rising energy costs etc. If you're here on holiday, I'd say go. If you live here....you've got all summer so try get there. See more..

The area of Kaivopuisto is about 16 hectares. You find many statues, flowers, old trees, beautiful sitting places, Kaivohuone Night Club, two playgrounds and a public toilet there. If you walk to the seaside, you find some nice cafeterias, too. If the weather is hot, it is nice to walk in the shade of trees. See more..
