    So much fun!
We read the reviews and were prepared! Paid the locals and rode out to the beach late afternoon. The ride was half the fun! Stood in the bed of the pickup and got a great view of the crazy trails that get you to the beach. The trucks have definitely seen better days but they took it slow and were courteous to the hikers. Whales were out in the ocean and we could see a glimpse of them as we rode down. Passed some very tired individuals hiking back/forth and a tourist stuck trying to drive on the wrong path. When you get to the beach the driver asks how long the group wants to stay before returning. We did about an hour and 15 minutes which was just enough to experience the fairly small but priceless beach. Could see turtles swimming in the water but we stayed away. Came back and did the very short drive down to South Point to watch the sunset (Highly recommended).

    Very different. Rugged and windy.
It is worth the hike. I'd suggest avoiding the locals that will take your 20 bucks to drive you in there if you can. It is about an hour hike across some terrain but doable. If you rented a Jeep and are comfortable with driving on a two-track with some ruts, you'll be fine. Yeah, your insurance won't cover you, blah blah blah. Seeing it live was worth the hike. If you do decide to hike it in, don't lose any of your personal possessions, such as car keys, as they will be lost forever. Experience talking........ Be prepared for rain, wind and sun all through the hike.
