4.5 (5.511 reviews) Spent Ranking #15 in Maui Neighborhoods

Fun all the time

Hit Lahaina’s scenic seafront main street for endless shopping, eating, nightlife and people-watching amid historic buildings and scenic views of the neighboring islands. You can grab some shaved ice before snagging some artisanal local handicrafts, sweet deals at the Outlets of Maui or checking out the fine art galleries that line Front Street. Along the way, don’t miss the Banyan Court Park and Hawaii's largest banyan tree which spans 1.94 acres and is over 150 years old. During the winter season, you can consider a whale-watching tour that departs from Front Street too. – Tripadvisor

    Fun all the time
Go early in the morning to get good parking and then just walk and window shop or pick a tour at the wharf.. I would not recommend a whale watch but take the ferry and spend the day driving Lanai or a sunset sail on the monohull sailboat, Scotch Mist, They actually put up the sails and sail while serving chocolates and champagne. Fun people.

Expensive Parking, But Pleasant Town to Walk Through
We visited to have lunch at Paia Fish Market. We also spent some time under the giant banyan tree and wandering Front Street. We read some of the history trail signs to try and understand how this place has evolved. We stopped in to multiple shops, including the brewery, an ice cream shop where we got Dole Whip, the General Store and an ABC Store. It was a hot August day, so we concentrated our meanderings on the shady side of the street. The A/C spilling out of many stores was pleasant, and we probably went into more stores as a result. The parking lot behind Paia Fish Market is a real money maker - $20 each which is more like big-city prices. I would like to spend more time here when it's not quite as hot; perhaps we'll come earlier in the morning next time.
