West Haikou
Binhai Rd is a very long stretch of road with planted palm trees and beach. The beach itself and the walk along the beach is pleasant. However, it is quite far to get here from the airport. A taxi will cost about 125 yuan and there are no convenience stores or easily found restaurants for miles. You can't even get an ice cream or drink without getting a taxi. A lot of corn sellers on motorbikes though wandering up and down. Beware of some hotels on this stretch too, as anything under 300 yuan could be a real dive. Also remember to take an umbrella as heavy downpours are common.
