Great music, food especially shrimp, beautiful day,I would like to tell people to be sure to go to the festival next year. Parking and traffic control was handled with no problems. This festival was a highlight of my trip in the south this year.

Enjoyed our time at the Shrimp Festival
Lots of vendors' booths with interesting stuff and goods, some of which made it back to DFW. Sunday afternoon had interesting musical acts this year. Throw in Cold Beer and we were good. Yes, the food was expensive but our group enjoyed the seafood offerings. The crowd on Sunday afternoon was not bad at all to deal with thanks to the hot weather and NFL football. Lots of nice people.

    Welcome to change
Been going to this fest for like the last 20+ years. Always the same setup, many repeat vendors, stages, etc ...EXCEPT this year. Supposedly fest organizers hired a firm/group to plan booth locations (vendors/food) and after talking to some of those vendors, most of them liked (located on grass, away from stages, etc). So who's complaining? fest goers who want the same-o, same-o. (or as I say, "resistance to change"). Will it improve? I'd say so, Maybe markers at end of rows of vendors to let us wanderers know if I'd been down? I admit, I also was wondering where I had been at times... But you have to admit the stages and viewing areas were open and (at least at one stage) on grass to lay out. Weather was gorgeous. And, as usual, food gets the most reviews. "Overpriced", "skimpy for the price", "No locals", and most prevalent, "Where's the shrimp". Hey folks, the food vendors that are there haven't changed in like a 1000 years so get over it or eat before/after you go. As they say, wait till next year to see what's in store at the Shrimp Fest!
