The Mayan textile tradition at the Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena!
The "Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena" is located at the "Centro Cultural de la Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM)" and is sided by "Museo Popol Vuh", meaning you can easily combine visits to both museums. While travelling in Guatemala, you will certainly notice the beautiful and colorful textiles that are sold at every local market. At "Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena", the country's textile tradition is preserved and you will be able to stroll along valuable collections of textiles, dresses, ceramics, jewelry and books. Enjoy!

    Worth buying the combo ticket
Excellent textiles and going there before buying textiles in other cities was very helpful. Gift shop was expensive but did have items that I didn't see in other locations. This is the same location as the Popol Vuh (Pre-Columbian and colonial art) Museum and Lienzo de Quauhquechollan exhibit. A combination ticket for all three museums/exhibits can be purchased for Q75. I spent 4 hours at the exhibits but could have spent longer. Well worth my $10. I disagree with another reviewer who complained about the location and taxi fares. I'm over 60 and female but walked back to my Zone 9 hotel alone.
