Highlight of Zhaoqing
Although very popular with tour groups this was a refreshing escape from city life. The public transport seemed very well organised, although I was not aware of any English spoken. We rode the electric cars up and walked back down via a pretty waterfall.

very famous resort within the city limit
Dinghu was a famous lake area that consist of a few tall mountains, water fall, a famous pagoda and a few other nature's trails for hikers. Due to the shape of this mountain & it's water ways, it have several lakes & water falls. Great for hikers, campers & bird watchers.

Escape from urban life
This is a great forest park outside of Zhaoqing. You can take the bus 15 from central Zhaoqing to DInghu Town for 4 RMB. We enjoyed it, however, the map supplied by the forest park isn't very accurate and so we ended up missing part of it. Also, to get to the butterfly walk you have to pay for another ticket and go on a boat to an island in the lake. The boat trip is slow so we didn't do it. We did go to the temple complex, which may be worth it if you are interested in Buddhism. By doing that we missed part of the scenic waterfall area in the middle, which I would have preferred to have seen. If you don't want to climb to the top of the hill to where the lake and baoding park are, you can get an electric car. The waterfall part we did see was amazing. Next time we'll know what to do and so won't end up frustrated!
