Very interesting museum!

A museum featuring the wonders of science. The collection is linked to the University of Groningen. On a permanent basis there is a collection of human anatomy and a chamber featuring the first famous dutch female doctor Aletta Jacobs. There are also temporary exhibitions which can be check out on our website.

Univeristeitsmuseum - get to know the background of your alma mata
Visit the University Museum and learn about the history of it and its teachers. Apart from that The museum has an impressing anatomical collection and an art gallery. Unfortunately these are not exhibited until 1 october 2014, so I will go again then. The museum is perfect for a short break or in my case a massive downpour. Opening times are Tuesday to Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm (free entry). An information brochure is provided for free at the reception desk.

Science at work: then and now
Small but certainly interesting museum in center of Groningen. Starting with modern day archaeology examples , but also in past collected items and tribute to first female Dutch physician and advocate for women’s vote rights. Interesting collection of anatomy related samples ( Enschede collection).
