Beautiful sculptures

The sculptures of Eddy Roos in this garden follow the principle of the golden section, this is unique to experience, the peace, silence and beautify. The walk in the garden was beautiful experience. After the garden we went to Eddy Roos museum in Uithuizen. This combination is a completion.

    More Than We Expected
We always try to find estates, castles or villas when we're on the road for some pictures. We found this estate with a small castle. From the front side, it looks like a house because it's hidden behind the green fascade but when you walk around you will see that it's really a castle, even big enough. We didn't have a chance to visit the garden

    Lovely house & surroundings
We visited on a wet Thursday in June (apparently the 2nd british couple that day). It was quite quiet but not empty.it was free entry with the museum kart. We watched a video on the bats & then went to the house. The gentleman who took are tickets spoke excellent English, gave us a guide in English & explained the route around the building. The house is a lovely moated manor house which was originally a tower from the 1400s. You get to visit rooms from the cellar to the attic. It is all well laid out & interesting. There is a lovely garden to walk around with a neat veg/herb garden & then farm land with a barn you can explore & a farm labourers cottage. An interesting visit well worth seeing. Dogs are not allowed in the museum but around the moat they were welcome.
