Great place to burn a couple of hours
I wouldn't make this a MUST SEE however if you have time to go swimming than I would recommend it. We all had a great time playing in the water from the little fish that swim next to you (mostly minnows), fighting the smalls currents going down stream, sliding down the slimy rocks and even sliding down the dam - yeah it was fun but gross! We all slid down the dam (really had to put my mom hat away and have fun because the hygienic part of me said HECK NO we need tetanus shots STAT) but given I am writing this review 6 months later we all survived and no weird growths came from it haha. After about an hour and a half of swimming we climbed the big rocks on the way back to the car. All in all it was a great excursion and definitely a way to cool down from the Texas heat.

Courtesy life vests, fascinating rock formations
Don’t miss this stop! What a great place to stretch your legs, wade in the river, climb on very cool round rock formations. There is plenty of parking. The park is surprisingly clean / well kept, and the rack of courtesy life jackets is a fantastic idea! They do allow dogs on leashes; they do not allow alcohol.
