The Benja Thermal Baths and Ottoman Bridge - well worth the side trip
The drive from the City of Permeti to the Thermal Baths of Benja was scenic and relaxing. Also located adjacent to the baths was a wonderful architectural example of an ancient stone constructed Ottoman Bridge which spans the Lengarica River. The baths are located below the bridge collect water from several thermal springs which collects in a large bathing/swimming/wading pool. Temperature of the springs is 23 to 32 degrees Celsius. A very enjoyable and soothing sidetrip indeed. Would highly recommend, not only for the architectural and historical significance, but for the baths themselves.

One of those things?
Well on the way from Permet we decided to pop in and see what its all about. It actually looks amazing and its unique. We walked on the bridge and had dip in the sulphur waters of therms. I would recommend to go and see and if u can get there few days in a row for an hour so you can benefit the natural water healing . Othervise its just one of those things u go once. Unfortunately there is no restaurant or food. Only coffe shop and local people selling kind of jams and teas for tourists.

WORTH VISITING EVEN IF 'THERMAL' IS A BIT DUBIOUS THESE DAYS
A five minute or so walk will take you to a beautiful Ottoman bridge you cross before reaching the thermal baths. There were two principal pools. There are no changing facilities. I went in the larger pool. It is rather slippery with algae at its edges so you must be careful. The water itself was quite clear. Our guide had warned us the 'thermal' aspect is dubious these days, the water not very warm but certainly not on the cool side either. My group was there in the late afternoon so it was not too busy, a bit of compensation. Whatever the lower than expected water temperature, the whole experience was a good one.
