Fox Theatre, Georgia, United States

4.5 (4.455 reviews) Thursday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #9 in Atlanta Architectural Buildings • Theaters

Gorgeous Architecture with poor orchestra seating!

Recently restored to its original gilded look of the 1920s, the Fox Theatre features "Mighty Mo," a classic Moller organ with over 3,600 pipes. The lavish theatre currently hosts Broadway musicals, comedy shows and dance companies throughout the year.

    Great Visual Archicteture Lousy Sound
Gorgeous but our there needs to be better sound coordination between the local and band sound techs for rock shows. Fox Theater is a visual spectacle. B-52s Farewell Tour and KC and the Sunshine Band Perhaps each exhorbantly priced soft drink should come with a pair of ear plugs for concerts. We sat Orchestra, Row W and the music was drowned out by the auditory clash. The sound was so bad that people left. One woman was playing Solitaire during B-52s. So many people were covering their ears. We tore up face masks as makeshift earplugs. My ears are still ringing. The bass was so strong, it reverbed against our bodies. My chest hurt when we left.

    Beautifull Historic Theater in Atlanta
The Fox Theater is a beautifully restored landmark in Atlanta. The reason for only a 4 rating is the fact that this was originally designed as a movie theater. Because of its seating design the sight-lines aren't the best for stage performances. This theater is also much larger than even the biggest Broadway theaters so you're really far from the stage if sitting in the balcony. If you do attend and buy in the balcony go no higher than the Loge level.
