Worth a visit. Great presentation of the mint, history and lesser known, interesting facts - like they print money for a vast array of countries ranging from the UK to some unusual countries. Very nicely done. Excellent selection of collector coins on show and to purchase, and of course investing in Kruger Rands. The tour was closed when we went - advise calling, because the website is/was a little misleading - but can only imagine how much cooler the visit would be including it :)

    Nice place to pop in
If you are interested in buying coins or just looking at coins... then this is a real treat for a quick pop in. There is tours available for groups but they must be organised in advance. There is a small museum next to the coin shop and some fascinating coinage... If you are in the area and passing by it is well worth a pop in. Entrance is free.

    The Gold Place
Worth a visit - but if you can't afford to break the bank I will not recommend you to go to SA mint. Even though it is a nice experience to see all types of expensive coins that a regular middle-class SA citizen can't afford. But then there are the silver coins which are a little bit more affordable. If you visit our country you are welcome to visit SA MInt you will even be able to buy some nice gold coins with your own currency.
