Tibetan statues in Dunhuang Exhibition Center
Tibetan statues are the real masterpieces of art. Great and unexpected experience. The most striking fact is that statues are real. Rest of items and pictures in the Center are copies.

If you didn't have enough inside the caves..
If you didn't have enough time inside the caves, this small museum-like exhibition center is a chance to make it up! There are replicas of the Buddha figures, paintings and models showing the art process of a figure. It is a great approach to learn about the caves and stories behind the stage. I loved the collection of the Silk Road the best! There were some historical relics, such as a piece of the old Bible, coins, clothes, horse-carts and documents. The shattered pieces of the Bible were a phase of Psalm in Syrian. There's No Photo sign inside the center, too. But you can still see some people sneaking shots when the securities are not looking. It is free to enter, the fee is in the entrance of the Mogao Caves. It is totally worthy an one-hour stay in the center.

Clear illustration of importance of site
The museum and other sections of the complex illustrate the amazing history and cultural and religuous significance of the grotto. Not just are the known images highlighted and explained but the day to day life of the monks is also illustrated.
