Seoraksan National Park, Gangwon-do, South Korea

Breathtaking views, a must do

My partner and I did this hike in winter. We took the No.7 bus from the stop about 100m down from Sokcho express bus terminal (1,700 WON each) and arrived at the entrance. It was absolutely a must to have brought our spikes for the hike, as in winter the ice is very slippy and can be dangerous. We reached the top in approximately 2 and a half hours, but my partner is not physically fit so this can definitely be done quicker. The route is moderate, so not too difficult but there are some some steep parts. The views on the way are breathtaking, and the trail itself is beautiful, particularly in the snow. Be careful at the top if it is windy, and the falls are steep! Overall, would absolutely recommend coming here and spending at least a night in Sokcho to do this hike.

Family of 7 spent a beautiful fall day here
We had a lovely experience. We drove as far as we could to park, paid 5k won to park and 10k won entrance fee. We got cable car tickets immediately (bought them at 9:05 and our time was 9:45). We hiked out to the peak and got back down from the top about 11am. We ate lunch then hiked Biryong Falls. Our bigger kids made it all the way to the top but our littles stopped at the suspension bridge. We still saw some beautiful views! We saw the statue and temple before heading back to our pension around 2pm. Masks, temperature checks required for everyone to do the cable car . (October 2020)

    Beautiful
Always enjoy a stroll or a hike in the mountains. Park is well maintained, and still only paid $30 for 3 admissions and 2 people return ticket on the cabal car. The cable car was a bit crowded but with trips every 5 min it's manageable. The views are breathtaking. A favourite place to visit!
