AMAZING pilot, incredible views and I loved EVERY MINUTE!
This experience has been on my bucket list for YEARS and I am so happy we chose Andy and his amazing staff at Galena On The Fly to share it with! My best friend and I did the sunrise flight and from the very beginning, Andy was humorous and informative and his added touches really set him apart from other companies, as the scenery speaks for itself. Throughout our ride Andy provided us with a soundtrack of facts about Galena, the balloon and funny anecdotes that kept us all laughing and enjoying ourselves, the entire time. When we landed and enjoyed our champagne and chocolate, even though the ride was over and we weren't 4,000 up in the air enjoying breathtaking views, he kept us all smiling with stories of past rides, the locals that support and allow the balloon landings and overall it was just an amazing experience and I could not have been happier! Thank you Andy and everyone at Galena On The Fly!!

Love at First Flight
I just had my first hot air balloon ride experience with Galena On The Fly and it was simply amazing and breathtaking!! A hot air balloon ride was something that interested me, although apprehensive, after hearing family and friends sharing how wonderful of an experience it is, I decided to book a flight for my husband and I’s 20th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, but understandably, the flight was cancelled by the company due to dangerous weather conditions. I appreciate that safety was a priority for them. Andy was very accommodating in helping us reschedule. The preflight and preparations grew anticipation for the flight. Boarding the basket was easy and take off was seamless. It was an exhilarating experience as we gained altitude and looked out over beautiful Galena and far out in the distance at surrounding communities and places. Andy was an excellent pilot and felt comfortable in his care as he navigated the balloon between different altitudes and shared points of interest and answered our questions. It was so peaceful taking in all that the experience had to offer and loved every minute of it! Our landing was perfect in every way. Andy shared with us the plan for landing as he scoped it out and communicated to his chase crew. You could tell Andy was a very experienced pilot as he carefully navigated over a power line and settled the basket gently and precisely in a patch of the field between a creek and a fence. We were amazed at how smooth the landing was as it glided to the ground to the desired spot. It was an amazing experience that I’m so happy we did it and I can’t wait to do it again!! Relaxing, breathtaking, and enjoyable ride!
Galena on the Fly was AMAZING. Our experience with the pilot, Andy, was awesome! We had a fairly large group and it made the ride so fun! We flew for about 45 over the town of Galena and it was beautiful. You could tell the pilot knew exactly what he was doing and I felt very safe and confident the whole time. It made the flight so much more enjoyable because I could just enjoy it. Not to mention, Andy was hilarious. So fun to ride with! His crew was GREAT. They followed us (on the ground of course) and helped us in and out of the balloon efficiently and friendly. They even helped an elderly lady so gently (who by the way was riding to cross it off her bucket list) and it just made me smile to see young men treat her so kind. We finished the ride with a champagne toast! What a fun adventure to take. Will definitely be visiting again if we ever make it back to Galena.
