Veterans Park is a must visit site

The war memorial is remarkable in it portrayal of the lives lost in each conflict. Its a great place for events and for individual visits.

    Great neighborhood park
The park has a little of everything: trails, bird watching, playgrounds, covered pavilions, basketball and volleyball courts, soccer fields, jogging path with workout stations and even a nice restroom facility. Parking can be tricky on crowded days. I've never encountered and any hostel people at the park, but I have seen a car broken into, so be wary of that. This is Kanapaha park, not Kanapaha botanical gardens. They are not far from each other, but one is a county park and the other is a botanical garden. And both are great for what they are.

    Typical day at the park
Kanapaha is what you would consider a run of the mill park. I have been picnicking watching soccer games and adventuring the property with my dogs & friends since I was young. It is the perfect place to have a nice date with your significant other or to just get away. There are trails in the woods and plenty of secret spots all over the property! I love to soak up the sun in all the open fields and the scenery is quite nice. Unfortunately the pond area has down-graded greatly but the rock garden never fails to make me smile. I recommend visiting whether your alone, with friends, or just want to get out in nature!
