Serene Ambiance

This is an excellent place for anyone who may want to do meditation or just get away to spend some "me" time. Such majestic statues and all of them had smiling faces....beauties to behold. So serene, so peaceful and quiet; on the whole a must visit place. Apparently, they run meditation classes on Fridays as well as have prayers every Sunday morning. Will definitely go there again the next time I visit Gainsville.

    So Lovely and Peaceful
Since I taught Cultural Geography, my husband and I were very excited to visit A Nan Buddhist Statue Park. Sadly, the small temple was not open and there were no monks around during our visit. However, we really enjoyed peaking in the windows of the temple and walking around looking at the statues. It was fabulous to escape today’s crazy world and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of this park. If you know nothing or very little about the Buddhist beliefs, do yourself a favor and do a little reading before you go. It will make your trip much more interesting.

    Temple and Statue Park
We enjoyed this park. We were the only ones there on our visit (went early morning). We stayed for roughly two hours. We will go back again. Something to keep in mind: if your GPS is like ours, it will lead you to the wrong place: some recreation center. In fact, the temple is right across the street. You could walk there, but it's best to just back track to the road and there is a parking lot right there.
