Beautifully restored. Privately owned. No access
We walked from Bogense town along the coastal path(on the dike) to see the mill. A beautiful walk, beautiful vistas and birdlife. You can only see the mill from outside as it stands on private land. There is a sister mill, "Langø Mølle" at the other side of the water - at Gyldensteen Strand. This one you can visit. And at Langø Mill you can walk all the way up to the top to look out on the area. Well worth it. The cap on Langø Mølle was transferred to Stego Mølle in the renovation. Both mills were used to keep the water out when the dike was further out. At Stego M. you can also see the remains of the Archemides' schrew that were used to keep the water out.

An old dike mill
Roughly 2 kilometers from the eastern outskirts of Bogense you will find Stegø Mølle. The mill has been defunct for some decades. When it was active it was used to drain the land the areas taken from the sea in the last centuries. Today the process has been taken full circle as the areas have been flooded once more to serve as a nature reserve for birds.
